Crafting for Charity

This year, I’ve decided that I’d like to put some of my creative efforts forth with the aim of eventually donating the finished products to a worthy cause.

Bonus! Action shots taken later in the day will include
these rockin’ wrist braces used when tendonitis
flares up!

Now, I haven’t decided where I’ll be giving the finished products to. I’m thinking either a local homeless shelter, elder care facility, children’s hospital or the Humane Society (if I decide on making blankets for the critters), but I do know that I’ll be doing it as a part of a fundraiser for Random Acts of Kindness. For those not in the know, this charity is run in part by Misha Collins, one of the actors from Supernatural, and an all around great guy.

They raise money to help orphaned children in Haiti, year round acts of kindness to help all sorts of people and promote the idea of being kind to others for no reason other than to make the world that much of a better place. That’s something I can get behind, as can the majority of people I know.

The fundraiser I’ll be taking part in is called Endure 4 Kindness. What will happen is that I’m putting the day of November 2nd aside to do nothing but knit whatever it is that I’ll be making. I’ll see of my hubby would be willing to take pics or video of the act in…well, action.

Now, this is where I’ll need some help. Since it’s a fund raiser, I’m asking you to donate whatever you can. It doesn’t have to be much – even just a dollar or two will help. If you can’t donate, or even if you can, please, please pass the word on for me.

I’ve set my goal at $600. This all will go to Random Acts.

If you’d like to donate, the link to do so is here. I’ll also be promoting it with totals donated so far on a bi weekly basis until either the goal is met or November 2nd gets here.

Thanks so much for reading, and the support!
