Epic Halloween Pumpkin Jack-O-Lanterns

The big day has arrived! People everywhere are doing one of several things –

  • Rushing to the store for candy
  • Putting the finishing touches on their costumes, their kids costumes or both
  • Wishing they were getting on with the festivities, rather than working or at school
  • Reading this blog entry (which they should all be doing, because this is a great entry. No really.)
  • Wishing the hype was passed. (Patience, my pretties.)

Granted, that’s not an all inclusive list, but hey, it’s what I could think of off the top of my head.

So, since everyone’s got something going on, I’ll just be sharing the nifty Halloween pumpkins I come across online.

WOW. The glowey eyes are so creepy.
I wonder how long it took this person to do those. The sharp lines and details in both of these pictures are amazing.
Awesome stuff. Part of what gets me when it comes to these works of art is how the carvers have mastered how light shines through various thicknesses of pumpkin.

This one makes me want to watch the Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon series for about the tenth time. Those fire benders do make for good pumpkin fodder.
Hey, a reusable jack-o-lantern! I don’t think I would have thought to use chainmaille in quite that way. Apparently, there’s a spot to put a candle in it, too. Very neat!
Would any pumpkin carvers like to share their handiwork? We don’t have one this year, but I did put together a last minute costume.
…ok, so it’s not very creative, but I DO conciser myself a witch. I even have a black cat!
Happy All Hollows!
