Finished and WIP craftiness! Ahh, fun times, fun times.
I’ve been doing a lot of knitting this week.
I finally finished a cozy for coffee mugs. I don’t know why I had such a hard time getting the sizing right. This one’s actually for sale here.
This is my adjustable arm/wrist cuff. I’m having a very hard time getting a decent picture of myself wearing it, and I’m the only model I have, so it’s not listed for sale, yet. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get it up in the store on Monday.
And this is what I’ve been spending most of my time on: the double sided, horse scarf. Ugh, this thing’s driving me crazy! I apparently can’t count consistantly, and the red yarn ran out before I finished with the last horse I’ve been working on.
The colors looked like a nearly perfect match in the store, but once I started working on it, I found the two reds are actually pretty far off. I get the feeling I’ll just need to unravel the stupid thing and start from scratch.
I’m not at all happy about that, but at least it’d give me the chance to fix the flaws already in the scarf. I have three weeks until the contest it’s for is up, and the lady in charge said she might extend the deadline.
Anyway, I found the horse pattern here, and designed the flower/snowflake myself. I’m actually not all that happy with that flower, so if I do end up redoing the scarf, I think I’ll add a couple of petals or something. I don’t know. I haven’t had coffee yet this morning, and my brain’s not happy about that.
Lastly, we’ve finally taken the first step towards finishing the basement! That would be cleaning it out. Since it’s my husband’s realm down there, he ended up doing all of the sorting, and I just helped him haul the throw away stuff out for the city to pick up.
Today, we’re probably going to pick up lumber to frame the walls for the new walls. Here are some almost-clean-basement pics.
This is one end of my eventual larger office/craft space. I think it is, anyway. It might be hubby’s dungeon. There used to be broken stereo and assorted tech stuff piled all along that wall.
This is all storage area, right now. I’m not sure what it’ll be turned into, but I’m just impressed there’s finally more space. This was full of assorted junk with a small path to the cat boxes in the corner. That bin of wood is gone now, too.
We’ll hopefully be replacing the old, asbestos laden furnace, which you can see a corner of, with a smaller, high efficiency model come spring. I’ll probably be opening up for commissions and hosting a few sales to help pay for it. Removal is insanely expensive, since asbestos is so dangerous, and new furnaces aren’t exactly cheap.
So, what have you all been working on?
