So many gifts!

I’ve finally gotten going with gifts! Better late than never, right? Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to do cards, this year. Sister’s wedding and whatnot took a lot out of me.

Anyway, here are the goodies I’ve finished this week:

First off, my buddy’s hat. This didn’t take as long as I thought it would, and it ended up a tiny bit bigger than I thought it would, but it’s not SO big that it’s unwearable.

My little foam head makes it look larger than it really is. It’s nice and warm, too.

Ugh…didn’t spot that bit of discoloration until I was almost done with the hat. Hope she doesn’t mind it.

I didn’t get to make the little scarf for my niece’s bunny, since I had to ship it out, but I did get the key chain attached.

And these are for my other niece. I hope they’ll fit her. I still have so much trouble sizing things.I do like how they turned out, though.

I might take yarn, a crochet hook and tailor’s tape with me to the Christmas gathering, so I can make one of those strings to run through the arms of her coat and attach to both mittens. From what I understand, that method worked better to prevent lost gloves/mittens than clips. Why are mittens attached to each other like that so hard to find these days?

And now for the WIPS!

Weird thing about this mitten. I’d actually made it after making one of the two pictured above it, because I thought I’d screwed up the pattern. So, I made this one, following the pattern closely. Oddly enough, I like how the screw up turned out better than this one, so I replaced the mistake.

Still, this is a cute mitten, and it’s just the right size to turn into an ornament. That’s exactly what I’ll be doing, too. Maybe I’ll stuff it with candy before I give it to whoever’s getting it.

My sister-in-law requested I make them a throw, so that’s what this will be. I’d finally got going on this thing after about five false starts last night, and this represents a few hours’ work.

Glad I went for the super-bulky yarn. I should have this done in time for Christmas, with time to spare for the last gift I need to make for someone.

I’m kind of thinking off offering custom blankets in 2015. They’ll be pretty pricey, since they’re rather labor intensive, and yarn can get expensive, but the one I made for my sister and her new hubby went over so well that I wonder if there’s a market for them.

Anyhoo, I should get back to my to-do list. In the meantime, enjoy my cat attempting to hitch a ride to Alaska via the mail.

Sorry, tiger stripe kitty, you’re staying here.
